Built on a long standing presence and track record in NSW and the ACT, Heyday is a leading installer of electrical and data communications cabling, products and systems. Established in 1978 and now part of the SCEE Group, we have delivered hundreds of projects for clients in the commercial buildings and fit-outs, hotels, retail, high-rise residential, maintenance services, infrastructure, transport, defence, industrial, education, health, and data centre sectors.

Our projects range anywhere from Australia’s largest infrastructure developments to local schools and we pride ourselves on delivering certainty through our comprehensive range of electrical and communications skills.

OUR PEOPLE

David Hammond

Executive Director

David Hammond entered the electrical contracting industry as an apprentice in 1979. After progressing to management roles in related industry and public companies he joined Heyday Group in March 1994.

David was a vending shareholder of Heyday5 Pty Ltd when the business was acquired by SCEE in March 2017 and was appointed to SCEE’s Board as an Executive Director on completion of the acquisition by SCEE. David retired from the SCEE Board in October 2021 but retains his Directorship in the Heyday5 business.

During his 28 year tenure with Heyday, David has held various positions up to and including his current role of Executive Director where his responsibilities include driving business development.

Randell Easthorpe

Managing Director

Randell assumed the role of Managing Director in 2019 at Heyday Group. He has been associated with the company since 2003 when he joined as a Project Manager, overseeing various commercial and retail developments. In 2006, Randell transitioned to the role of NSW Operations Manager, where he efficiently coordinated the project management team.

In 2009, Randell took on the responsibility of NSW Construction Manager, ensuring the smooth operation of the business. Under his leadership, the team successfully delivered multiple major projects. Randell will continue to collaborate with the Heyday projects team to maintain the company's high standards.

As Managing Director, Randell reports directly to the CEO of SCEE Group, the parent company of Heyday.

Doug Prail

ACT General Manager/Director

Doug joined Heyday Group in the Canberra office in  1997, as a Project Manager. Doug was appointed to the position of Canberra Branch Manager in 2003.

Doug’s industry experience in project management and administration spans the last 30 years and he has held many senior management positions engaged on large contracting projects in the Canberra region.

Doug’s role is to oversee the operational performance, profitability and reporting schedules on all projects for Heyday Group’s ACT Branch.

Brett Lavorato

NSW Construction Manager

Brett became the NSW Construction Manager in 2019 after joining Heyday in 2004 as an apprentice electrician.

He later moved to the Estimating Department for three years before working on a major government project in the ACT. Returning to Sydney in 2012, Brett took on the role of Project Manager and successfully completed multiple large-scale construction projects.

As the NSW Construction Manager, he is responsible for overseeing the division, which includes a strong team in Engineering & Drafting and Project Managers. Brett reports directly to the Managing Director.

Anna Msichili

Financial Controller

Anna was appointed to the position of Financial Controller in 2019.

Anna joined Heyday Group in 2003 starting in an Accounts role. Over the years she has worked in various roles within the Finance and Administration Department to progress into her current role.

Anna’s various roles spanning over the years has gained experience and knowledge of the business.

Anna in her current roll of Financial Controller is responsible for leading the Heyday Group financial team.

John Nisbet

Group Estimating Manager

With over 35 years of experience in the electrical industry, John began as an apprentice and later became an estimator, working for two major electrical contractors in Sydney for over a decade. In 2002, he joined Heyday as the Group Estimating Manager, bringing his industry knowledge and experience to the role.

As Group Estimating Manager, John oversees the estimating team in New South Wales and manages major projects in the Canberra branch. He also collaborates on joint bid proposals with other Heyday branches when needed.

During his 20 years at Heyday, John has played a pivotal role in securing numerous high-profile and complex projects in commercial, residential, hospitality, government, and infrastructure sectors. His expertise and contributions have been instrumental in the company's success.
